President Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the United States, brings a life story unlike that of any previous U.S. leader. With a polished speaking style, a command of eloquent and uplifting rhetoric, the ability to inspire the enthusiasm of young voters, makes him very much a 21st-century President. Invoking Americans of diverse ideological, social, and racial background to unite for the common good, “there’s not a liberal America and a conservative America - there’s the United States of America.”

This Presidential Library represents the very essence of Barack Obama and his ideal that. “We are all one people.” Obama has come into the presidency with various experiences throughout his life. Living in several diverse places and such as Hawaii, Indonesia, Chicago, & Washington D.C. However his story began in Honolulu, it is where he spent his childhood and the reason why I have located the Obama Library in Hawaii.

The design idea of the Presidential Library is mapping out Barack Obama’s timeline, it encompass the infinite loop of time, pulling pivotal coordinates back to the site, to represent Obama and his moment in time. However the presidential library is more than a symbol of his presidency, it also tells the story of one people learning, growing, and evolving over time together.
